Crafting the Perfect Pitch

HIP613: Crafting the Perfect Pitch

What does it take to create a successful project?

Communication is key to effective collaboration. At this pitch clinic, we’ll help you learn how to effectively craft a 60 second elevator-style pitch that will convey your idea in a way that transcends disciplines and reaches each individual regardless of their training or perspective!

If you are considering pitching an idea at the Hacking Health Ottawa #HIP613 Hackathon attending this pitch clinic is highly recommended: we’ll help you learn how to deliver the right type and amount of information, within the 60-second time limit, to improve your odds of attracting a great team. It’s also a great chance to network with other Hackathon participants, and get a sneak peek at some of the great projects that will be looking for members!

The Hacking Health Ottawa #HIP613 Hackathon kicks off on Friday, April 28th. Don’t forget to apply – At the hackathon, we will build prototypes of our ideas, so that they can be tested to potentially transform healthcare. We are excited to have CHEO-OCTC consider your successful projects for pilot opportunities at the hospital. Other projects will move on to become viable startups — and that’s how we together can create impact!

Bench to Bedside – Shark Tank Pitch Day

Our partner healthcare marketing agency gyro:human has invited us to Bench to Bedside Initiative, a collaborative effort between gyro:human, Rockefeller University, Weill Cornell Medical University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering to help PhD students, scientific researchers and physicians translate their scientific ideas into commercial products/services. The semester long program culminates in a shark-tank pitch day where teams will present their businesses plans around unlicensed IP at WCMC, MSKCC, and Rockefeller university for seed stage funding on November 19th.

The program is in very early stage but has tremendous potential.  Involvement with this program gives unprecedented exposure not only to the inventions and scientists, but also to all the unlicensed IP at these leading institutions.
