How to change a background image, edit image size and use filters

Change a background image

Pages - All pages

Step 1

On the Hacking Health dashboard (http://hacking-health.org/wp-admin/), go to Pages > All Pages.
You can search your page using the search tool in the right corner.

Note: You can also click on Pages to access the list of all the pages.

Other option to edit your page

If you are logged in, you can go on the website to your page, and click Edit Page in the toolbar (at the top of the browser) to edit your page in the dashboard.

Step 2

Click on the “pen” edition icon in the “header” of the top right of the section to edit.

Edit header chapter

The Row Settings window will appear.

To modify the image, click on the “x” of the image already there, then click on the “+”, to download a new image.
If there is no picture, click on the “+”.

Set image

Click on the Upload Files tab to download the photo.

Add image

Once downloaded, enter an alternative text in the Alt Text box, which will be the description of the image.
This text will be displayed on the site if the image does not appear, and will help SEO (search engine optimisation).

Click on Set image when done.

Note on the background image

  • Width: 1950px
  • Height: 900px
  • Resolution: 72 ppi (pixels per inch)
  • File type: JPG

A smaller size would create a blurred image on some screens or not covering all the background.
Too much resolution will slow down the display of the site.

Edit image size
