Finding digital solutions to fight Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is the theme for this special international JPIAMR hackathon. The hackathon aim is to bring together scientists, designers, patients, developers, innovators, students and entrepreneurs to collaborate, dream up and create solutions to real-world problems to improve human, animal and environmental health and raise awareness to the challenges of Antimicrobial Resistance. The hackathon is a JPIAMR-VRI activity, facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity development within the one health approach. Hacking AMR 2019 is a fun, hands-on, intense, innovative, 3-day event that seeks to produce innovative digital work products/mock-ups/prototypes that can bring concrete, actionable solutions to address the serious challenge of Antimicrobial Resistance.
Key Facts When: 13-15 December at Nordic Forum Kista, Stockholm, Sweden
Who: Participants from sixteen JPIAMR member countries with a wide range of expertise.
How: During the hackathon, teams will collaborate on their projects using design thinking as the method to drive the ideation and prototyping. On the final day all teams will pitch their prototypes and projects to the judges and a winning project will be announced.
Hacking AMR 2019 is a Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance – Virtual Research Institute (JPIAMR-VRI) activity supported and co-organised by the following groups: Swedish Research Council; Institute of Infection and Immunity (III) of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR); Research Council of Norway. And in collaboration with: Uppsala Antibiotic Center (UAC) and AMR DxC – hosted at the University of Edinburgh. Hacking Health Foundation is contracted as “hack” organiser.
